The Ghost Captain

Description

Appearance: A ghost in the uniform of a soldier — period dress, indeterminate era. Pale and translucent, moving with the particular purposelessness of the recently restless dead.

Presence: Cold. The kind of cold that doesn't come from air temperature.

What Happened

The Ghost Captain manifested at Long Wharf pier on the night of October 10, 1986. He passed directly through Diane Okoye, leaving frost in fractal patterns across her skin and dropping her unconscious on the dock.

Chandler T. Harrow arrived and recognized him. He addressed the apparition directly:

"Captain, aren't you supposed to be dead?"

The ghost dissolved.

What Is Known

Chandler knows this figure from something he calls the Fanlock raid. He knew him when he was alive. Whatever the Captain was doing at Long Wharf, Chandler's recognition — or his words — was enough to end the manifestation.

Whether the Captain is gone or simply retreated is an open question.
