Diane Okoye

Role: Paranormal Investigator, Boston Paranormal Society
Affiliation: Boston Paranormal Society
Location: Boston — currently hospitalised
First Appeared: Session 01 - The Convergence
Description
Appearance: Late twenties, sharp-eyed and quick-handed. Always carrying something she built herself — a sensor, a recorder, a modification of a modification. Looks more comfortable with a soldering iron than a conversation.
Personality: Scientific rigour first, wonder second — though the wonder is clearly there underneath if you look. Takes her equipment seriously. Takes the work seriously. Genuinely believes in what the Society is trying to do.
Voice / Mannerisms: Precise and technical. Measures things. Always measuring things.
Background
Diane has been Leonard's closest ally in the Boston Paranormal Society — the one who actually shows up to investigate rather than just discuss. On the night of October 10th, she was with Leonard at Long Wharf, monitoring anomalous electromagnetic readings that had been off the charts for three days straight.
A ghost walked through her body. The frost it left behind was distributed in fractal patterns across her skin.
She is currently hospitalised. Her condition is stable, but she has not regained full responsiveness.
Session 01
Diane was recording EM data at Long Wharf when The Ghost Captain manifested — a soldier in period uniform, a smear of distortion with eyes like holes punched through the air. It passed directly through her body, leaving her covered in frost and immediately unconscious. Her last words before going down:
"Leonard, are you getting the—"
Leonard caught her before she fell into the water. Emergency services were called by a dock worker who witnessed the scene. Diane was loaded into an ambulance.
Her recording equipment captured the EM spike immediately before the manifestation — the data survived even though the device cracked. Detective O'Malley has the device.
Session 02 — Ten Days Later
Diane remains at Mass General, Room 372, comatose. She has not regained responsiveness. Leonard has visited her every day during his long rest, and she has shown no change. Chandler has connected the cold-that-wasn't-weather on her skin to the three incidents in Detective O'Malley's new file — something is making unawakened people cold in ways that aren't meteorological. Whether Diane will recover, and what the Ghost Captain actually left in her, remain open questions.
