Marceline

Role: Bakery daughter at Boval

Location: Boston — below Pierre's flat
First Appeared: Session 02 - Telephone
Description
Appearance: The bakery's daughter — works the front counter and answers the phone. Not otherwise described.
Personality: Warm toward Pierre specifically; transactional with everyone else. Has a sense of humor that includes charging for favors when she sees an opening. Not a maid.
Voice / Mannerisms: Speaks with a formality that makes small haggling feel like a business meeting. "Who do you think I am? I am not your maid."
Background
Marceline and her father run Boval, the bakery below Pierre's apartment. They are aware that their upstairs tenant runs with the wrong crowd. When news made its way through the neighborhood that Pierre had died in the harbor, both of them grieved him. When he walked back into the bakery ten days later, they refused to take his money for anything.
Session 02
After his ten-day downtime, Pierre returned to Boval during Day 9 of his long rest to buy pastries. Marceline and her father recognized him immediately — neither of them believed he had survived, and both of them refused to charge him for the croissants he ordered. Pierre tipped Marceline $5 and left her the key to his apartment.
"Here, let her my key. Just make sure that the dishes are done, because I don't think I did the dishes when I left last time."
— Pierre

A second $5 convinced her.
"Fine. I shall do these for you. Just these once. Do not make a habit of it."
— Marceline
